Vegetarian Thai Food Recipes – Deep Fried Mushrooms – Tod Man Hed (ทอดมันเห็ด)

Today’s recipe is Deep fried mushrooms. Soon, we have a vegetarian and vegan festival starting in Thailand, called เทศกาลกินเจ (Pronounce Tes Sa Kan Gin Dje). For this occasion, I will cook vegetarian food the coming weeks. And this yummy Thai appetizer called Tod Man Hed (ทอดมันเห็ด) is a great way to start! It’s made with mushrooms, of course, but also eggs, flour, yard long bean, red curry paste, kaffir lime leaves, and a few other ingredients.
You can find it as streetfood all around Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and so on, but let’s be honest…. it’s never as good (and as big^^) as when it’s homemade!

Alright, are you ready? Let’s go!

I am by no mean a Chef, but food and cooking have always been a very important part of my life. When I was a kid, my parents were owning a streetfood stall and right after school I was always running there to help them cook and serve the customers.

I have also learned a loooot with my granny, who taught me how to cook traditional Thai food since… well, since forever I believe !
